HOME RENOVATIONS GOLD COAST
Waterfront duplex apartment transformation from old to new. A stand out home renovation.
The house featured two built in bathrooms. The kitchen had a breakfast bar that protruded far into the walkway and entry of the dining room; inhibiting the view and making the space unwelcoming. The downstairs powder room lacked space and desperately needed new tiles.
To bring all bathrooms and the kitchen up to current day trends in a stylish and contemporary manner. To allow the atmosphere created by the surrounding waters to permeate the home.
The Hasl team sat down with our client and discussed what was important to them. Being a home that originally belonged to their parents, our clients wanted to retain the warmth they had always associated with the home while bringing their own personality into the new space. Hasl applied our unique FLOW process to each room.
A free standing bath was added under the water view window. A touch of elegance was added with a gorgeous black stone bench top with under-mount bowls against a charming backdrop of classic travertine tiles. The ensuite was tastefully finished with a frameless shower; all creating a “I want to be in here” feel.
The bathroom design changed from an L shaped vanity and moved over to the adjacent wall, creating cleaner lines and seemingly much greater space. Gloss tiles were used floor to ceiling to give a fluid, comforting allure.
The powder room was adapted to produce a superb use of space; growing in cabinet space under the wall-mount bowl.
The kitchen design reflected both openness and intimacy to be shared with family and friends. This was done by altering the breakfast bar to create a warm and inviting entrance. The colours used in the kitchen were white on white with a soft mushroom splash back. The floor tiles (being 60cm x 60cm) added a warm, soft blue/grey touch by reflecting the ambience of the surrounding waters.
Our clients feel even more at home now; enjoying a space that is both special to them as a reminder of loved ones as well as presenting a promise of fond future memories to be created.
